Digital Series: Aquatic Radiation - David Bernie
I aspire to create through the inspirations that surround me – from thoughts to visuals. I capture images with cameras, document thoughts with a pen & paper, create visuals with colors and textures, and illustrate my life through the medium of art. I am an indigenous (Yankton Sioux – Ihanktonwan Dakota) contemporary artist. I am David Bernie.

Digital Series: Aquatic Radiation

Long Beach, CA | Fuji X100s | Stock Lens | B&W

It was a weekend field trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific with my Fuji x100s in hand. The challenge ahead was to attempt to photograph the water tanks, the life inside, and navigate the myriad of viewers. I found the series I wanted to capture at the next tank, with several light rays inviting me to take notice. The solitude in the scene and in front of the glass allowed me to create a different take of the aquarium.

The last two images may seem to deviate from the theme of light rays; however, I felt the free-swimming marine animals were unique and complemented this series.
